Feasting, Family & Helping Our Fellow Neighbor Canned Food Drive

Cleveland, Flowood, and Oxford, MS – November 1, 2024 – Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is excited to launch of its first annual Feasting, Family & Helping Our Fellow Neighbor Holiday Canned Food Drive, running from Friday, November 1 to Friday, November 22, 2024 at our Flowood, Cleveland and Oxford donation centers.

As the holiday season approaches, the demand for food assistance in our communities intensifies. MBS encourages everyone, not only to donate blood, but to also remember those less fortunate in our areas.  We are collecting food items such as canned green beans/corn/yams, boxed cornbread or stuffing mix, dry noodles, canned soup/fruit and other non-perishable food items that can be used for holiday meal preparedness.

The collected items will then be shared with staff at The Unity Pantry Project of Jackson, The Pantry of Oxford & Lafayette County, and Helping Hands of Cleveland to prepare holidays meals for area shelters.

“We believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Kasey Dickson, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Mississippi Blood Services. “By working on conjunction with these organizations, we are helping to provide nutritious meals for children, seniors and families this holiday season. This is an opportunity for all of us to come together and help our fellow neighbors in need.”
