Flowood, MS – In anticipation of the impact from Hurricane Milton, Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is taking proactive measures to support relief efforts. MBS will provide vital assistance to communities affected by the hurricane by mobilizing blood donations in partnership with the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps (BERC).
As Hurricane Milton approaches, the need for blood donations becomes critical. MBS is calling on the community to help ensure that hospitals have the necessary blood supply to treat patients and respond to emergency medical needs during and after the storm.
“By staying ahead of the storm, we can better support our healthcare partners and the families in need,” said Christopher Swafford, President and CEO at Mississippi Blood Services. “Every donation made during this time will contribute directly to our efforts in collaboration with BERC, ensuring that we are prepared to meet the needs of those affected by the hurricane.”
Blood donations at Mississippi Blood Services locations will directly support hurricane relief efforts. Donors can make an appointment or walk in to give blood, which is crucial for maintaining an adequate supply ahead of potential challenges posed by the storm.
