STATEWIDE – December 16, 2025 – Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is issuing a statewide urgent appeal to donors as the state’s blood supply has reached critically low levels during the holiday season, particularly for O- , O+ , B-, and B+ blood types.
“O and B blood types are critically needed this holiday season. Every donation can save a life—patients across Mississippi are counting on our community now more than ever,” said Kasey Dickson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Mississippi Blood Services.
To help meet this urgent need, MBS invites donors to give at any of its donor center locations or a mobile blood drive near them. Donors of all blood types are welcome, but O and B blood type donations are especially critical.
