The Rural Emergency Services Care, Blood Utilization and Survival (RESCUE) is an innovative, collaborative program between Mississippi Blood Services, local emergency responders and the greater community. Its purpose is to bring lifesaving prehospital blood to those communities which have limited access to traumatic care but have a high incidence of traumatic injury. RESCUE Program Impact
After one year of service, the RESCUE program has utilized 40 units of blood in emergency transfusions and collected over $70,000 to sustain and expand this program into future counties.
